Process EngineerJob Responsibilities
I.
Purpose
Provides technical and process assistance to the BNA Technical / Manufacturing departments and our customers in the form of quality, process improvement, trial coordination process, analyzing trial data, trial effectiveness, cost reduction, safety enhancement, and troubleshooting. Also responsible for ongoing site maintenance of applicable SMS manufacturing specifications ensuring data integrity in a manner consistent with the standardized divisional governance requirements, including adherence to the SAP product definition data.

Duties

2. Awareness of andAdherence toall,Corporate &Site;Environmental,Health,&Safety,policies & procedures.
3. Writes, performs, analyzes, and reports on trials, scale-ups, and validations for the manufacturing processes.
4. Troubleshoots production and process problems; communicates with manufacturing, quality, and technical people regarding run problems; investigates root causes and recommends and helps implement corrective actions.
5. Reviews data and trial reports from technical for products being developed and reports concerns and results to the appropriate department managers.
6. Assist with following and coordination of production trials providing accurate and detailed feedback to Trial owners, Manufacturing, Technical Manager and Marketing.
7. Oversight and facilitation of all unique/trial specification creation as it relates to site SMS specifications and provide necessary and accurate information to site Planning, Manufacturing, and Business Data team ensuring timely spec and SAP data creation.
8. Analyze trial quality, output and waste data to determine trial effectiveness / specification commercialization.
9. Facilitate and maintain manufacturing specification requirements ensuring accurate Customer and Internal manufacturing requirements for all aspects of SMS at the site level.
10. Coordination of specification data creation and cleansing with the appropriate shared specification owners within the organization to ensure complete and accurate Customer and manufacturing information for productive use.
11. Accountable for SMS data accuracy, integrity, and completeness across the areas of responsibility
12. Maintains and facilitates a comprehensive understanding of the SMS data requirements, SMS sub-specifications with a working knowledge of how the specifications are generated and how they relate to the manufacturing operations.
13. Facilitation of all requested specification modifications including communications to all applicable sites Planning, Manufacturing, and Business Data resourcing ensuring SMS and SAP data synchronization.
14. Monitors the daily exception reports ensuring all specification changes and updates are communicated properly to the applicable site (s) Planning, Manufacturing, and Business Data team ensuring SMS & SAP data synchronization.
15. Identifies and resolves issues that impact data aspects through root cause analysis and corrective action management as it relates to specification impacts to all operation resources and departments.
16. Maintains and tracks the progress in data quality improvements where needed to support the productive use of the data in SMS in support of manufacturing process needs.
17. Develops, documents, and maintains appropriate system controls and procedures to ensure SMS Specification integrity of data used in manufacturing and decision-making.
18. Assists with coordination and movement of specifications between plants within the business unit.
19. To facilitate all of the company policies and procedures as they are outlined and defined.
20. Actively participates in WCOM including WCOM team leadership.
Education & Experience Required
A Bachelor''s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
Internship in a manufacturing environment or 3
years'' experience working with business functions and the associated data requirements.
Six Sigma certification strongly preferred
Completion of WCOM Foundations training or willingness to complete such training upon acceptance of this role.
Completion of Finance for Non-Finance professionals and/or Bemis Business Acumen training or a willingness to complete this training upon acceptance of this role.Skills & Abilities Needed
Skills & Abilities
Knowledge and understanding of multiple manufacturing processes.
Strong mechanical knowledge.
General knowledge of statistical methods for improvements (Mini-Tab, Excel).
High degree business process experience, within assigned business function.
Good data skills with ability to incorporate good written & oral communication.
Strong interpretive, analytical and math skills with a strong attention to detail
Vigorous problem solving and investigative abilities.
Ability to organize and disseminate information efficiently, write and/or adjust reports used to provide data quality metrics.
Must be able to work with and communicate to all levels of resources and management
Strong organizational and follow up skills and the ability to maintain long and short-term projects.
Strong background / knowledge of Microsoft computer software.
Minimal travel will be required.
Business related continuing education, seminars, and upkeep are expected.
Good basic level of business acumen to understand the drivers of operating profit, working capital, return on sales and other key business metrics.
